To further enhance international students’ awareness of fire safety, improve their ability to prevent dormitory fire hazards and respond to emergencies, and effectively ensure campus safety and stability, our college recently organized a themed fire safety education activity for international students focusing on dormitory fire prevention. Through a combination of centralized briefings and interactive learning, the activity guided international students to strengthen their safety awareness and jointly create a safe and orderly learning and living environment.
The activity addressed common fire hazards in international students’ dormitories, with a particular focus on risks such as the unauthorized use of high-power electrical appliances, improper wiring and private cable connections, prolonged charging of electronic devices, and the accumulation of flammable materials. In conjunction with actual campus conditions, detailed explanations were provided regarding dormitory fire safety management regulations and related precautions. Through case-based instruction, students further recognized the sudden nature and severe consequences of dormitory fires, thereby enhancing their fire prevention awareness and sense of safety responsibility.
During the learning and exchange session, teachers and staff patiently addressed potential safety misconceptions in international students’ daily lives, helping them correctly understand regulations regarding the safe use of electricity and open flames in dormitories. At the same time, students were guided to familiarize themselves with the locations and proper use of fire-fighting facilities within dormitories and residential buildings, and to master basic fire escape and self-rescue skills, thus improving their emergency response capabilities.
Through the implementation of this fire safety education activity, international students gained a more intuitive and in-depth understanding of the importance of dormitory fire safety, effectively enhancing their safety awareness and self-protection abilities. The college will continue to strengthen safety education and management for international students, promote the normalization and diversification of safety education initiatives, and provide strong support for the development of a safe and secure campus.
